Nassau Conference III football Week 5 recap

Christian Meszaros rushed for 277 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries and Michael Fagen had 11 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns to lead Lynbrook past Mineola, 56-28, in Nassau Conference III Saturday.
The Owls (4-1) rushed for 584 yards and eight touchdown runs behind the offensive line of Jake Lunati, Dylan Murphy, Mike O’Hagan, Harrison Kirby, Mann Terry and tight end Tyler Ippolito.
Matt Solitto had five tackles and an interception and Ryan Shaprio added another interception. Mineola fell to 1-4.
Hewlett 28, Manhasset 20: Mark Winkler rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and was 3-for-6 for 56 yards and a touchdown pass to lead Hewlett. Jon Zenny rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries and Evan Greenberg caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Player had seven tackles and Jacob Maiorano added six tackles and blocked two extra points for Hewlett (3-2). Manhasset is 1-4.
Floral Park 34, Valley Stream South 8: Chris Naronis rushed for 136 yards and two scores on eight carries and completed 5 of 7 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns to lead Floral Park. Matt Ollen had a rushing TD, receiving touchdown, an interception and seven tackles.
Jason Kozak caught three passes for 61 yards and a score and Joaquin Llaurado led the defense with 11 tackles (5 tackles for a loss) for Floral Park (3-2). Valley Stream South is 1-4.
Valley Stream North 35, Bellmore JFK 0: Brian Farrell completed 7 of 7 passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns to lead Valley Stream North. Andrew Lusterino had two receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns, Aldean Sarmiento had two receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown, and Gerry DelCarpine had a reception for 28 yards and a touchdown.
Vaughn Candelario rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Angelo Morales led the Spartans (2-3) with 12 tackles. Bellmore JFK is 0-5.
Roosevelt 14, Division 0: Jashir Gayle rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries for Roosevelt. Gayle’s 1-yard touchdown run broke a scoreless tie with two minutes left in the third quarter. He scored again in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard rush to put Roosevelt (2-3) ahead 12-0. Taje Clark finished with 103 yards on the ground. Jeremiah Edmonds had eight tackles, David Grant and Zavier Garrell each recorded eight tackles and one sack. Division fell to 3-2.
Wantagh 28, South Side 0: Nick Aldino had five of Wantagh’s eight sacks and Jake Martini had two interceptions to lead Wantagh. Mark Maniet rushed for 122 yards and two scores on 10 carries and Tyler Martini rushed for 134 yards and a score on 14 carries. Sean Carlo added a 1-yard score in the fourth quarter to put Wantagh (5-0) ahead 27-0. South Side fell to 2-3.
