Nassau Conference IV football Week 7 recap

Christian Garcia had a 2-yard TD on fourth-and-goal as time expired to cap a 65-yard drive spanning six minutes to give Locust Valley a 22-20 victory over Lawrence in Nassau Conference IV Saturday. Mike McGlone made a 25-yard field goal with nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to give Locust Valley a 16-14 lead but Lawrence’s Kody Kirchner had a 48-yard TD about a minute later to give Lawrence a 20-16 lead. Nick Amendolara rushed for 190 yards on 24 carries Sean Roberts had 27 yards and two TDs in the win. Locust Valley is 2-5 and Lawrence is 1-6.
North Shore 34, Island Trees 13: Nick La Rosa rushed for 291 yards and two TDs and caught a 45-yard pass from Peter Liotta to lead North Shore. Liotta completed 2 of 3 passes for 58 yards and a TD and added 89 yards on the ground with a TD. Liotta had two interceptions. Reece Ramos had a 5-yard rushing score to give North Shore (5-2) a 20-0 lead in the second quarter. Island Trees is 4-3.
Clarke 28, Cold Spring Harbor 6: Nick Giardino rushed for 157 yards and two TDs for Clarke. He ran in a two-point conversion after scoring a 42-yard TD in the fourth quarter to give Clarke a 22-0 lead. Later in the fourth, Giardino’s 13-yard TD pushed the lead to 28-6. Clarke is 5-2. Cold Spring Harbor is 4-3.
East Rockaway 43, Oyster Bay 18: John Giannotti returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a TD in East Rockaway’s win. Giannotti rushed for 130 yards and a 54-yard TD. Tyler Hyland found Tyler Gutierrez on a 26-yard TD pass to end the first half and gave the Rocks a 29-6 lead. Alex Fasso intercepted a pass and returned it 15 yards for a score. East Rockaway is 4-3. Oyster Bay is 2-5.
Seaford 49, Malverne 14: Kyle Stark threw for 132 yards and three TDs for Seaford. James McHugh rushed for 193 yards on 15 carries and three TDs. McHugh ran for TDs of 6, 6, and 48 yards. Jack Murph caught three passes for 93 yards and TDs of 25 and 29 yards. AJ Arguello returned an interception 24 yards for a TD. Seaford is 7-0. Malverne is 4-3.
