Billy Patsos rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries and scored on a 30-yard punt return to lead Valley Stream North to a 42-6 win over Mineola Saturday in a Nassau IV football opener for both teams. Joe White had a sack and recovered a fumble on a kickoff in the win.

Clarke 34, Oyster Bay 14: Justin DiFilippi 139 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries to lead Clarke in the opener for both teams. DiFilippi broke the game open in the second quarter with a 63-yard TD run that put Clarke up 21-0. Clarke's defense allowed 110 yards of total offense with 79 coming on one drive that included a 72-yard TD run. Anthony Yodic had five tackles and two sacks, and Kyle Wenzel had five tackles in the win.

West Hempstead 34, Cold Spring Harbor 0: Dayvon Hall ran for 205 yards and a TD on 21 carries to lead West Hempstead in the opener for both teams. Enrique McFarlane rushed for 95 yards and two TDs on four carries in the win. McFarlane scored on runs of 60 and 28 yards in the first quarter to make it 13-0.

Roosevelt 40, East Rockaway 0: Marquell Saunders' 89-yard TD run came on Roosevelt's second offensive play. Teammate Johnnie Aikens opened the third quarter with a 47-yard TD run and in Roosevelt's next series, Aikens scored on a 91-yard run. Kayshawn Malone had 11 tackles to lead Roosevelt in the opener for both teams.
