Nestor Haddo, Joe Truono lift Clarke over Malverne
Clarke's Nestor Haddo stopped Malverne on a fourth-and-goal from the 4-yard line with 16 seconds left in the game to seal a 30-26 win in Nassau IV football yesterday.
Joe Truono scored on a 1-yard run with 10:31 left in the fourth quarter to give Clarke a 30-20 lead. Andrew Eannucci rushed for 120 yards on 19 carries and scored a touchdown and Truono rushed for 69 yards on nine carries for two touchdowns.
Kyle Wenzel made 10 tackles to lead Clarke (2-1). Malverne is 0-3.
Mineola 19, Locust Valley 12: Vinny Bieniek connected with Brian Gaffney on a 37-yard touchdown pass with 2:54 remaining to propel Mineola (2-1).
Bieniek completed 9 of 14 passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns.
Gaffney added 110 yards on 24 rushes and had two receptions for 60 yards. Locust Valley is 1-2.
Seaford 29, East Rockaway 14: Nicky Fischetti rushed for 230 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns for Seaford (3-0). Seaford led 6-0 at halftime but East Rockaway took an 8-6 lead after a third-quarter scoring drive. Fischetti answered that drive by scoring on a 77-yard run on the next play from scrimmage.
Tyler O'Donnell made three clutch catches for Seaford, including two on fourth down.
James O'Hagan and Zach Antonette led Seaford's defense with eight tackles each. John Lauretti had four tackles and two sacks. East Rockaway is 0-3.
Valley Stream North 42, Oyster Bay 14: Billy Patsos had rushing touchdowns of 16 and 40 yards and caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Frank Trotta to lead Valley Stream North (2-1). Patsos totaled 137 yards rushing on 18 carries.
Valley Stream North finished with 294 total rushing yards. Patsos and Joe White had seven tackles each to lead the defense. White also had a sack. Oyster Bay is 0-3.
