Suffolk Division III football Week 7 recap
Paul Drummond threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Allen Flore with eight seconds remaining to tie the score and the ensuing extra point by Michael LoRusso gave Eastport-South Manor a 28-27 victory over Rocky Point in Suffolk Division III football Friday night.
Flore also caught a 25-yard touchdown from Drummond earlier in the quarter.
Tyler Moller caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Cody Miller that put Rocky Point (2-5) ahead 27-14 in the fourth quarter.
Drummond was 11-for-17 for 126 yards and the two touchdowns. Richard Stanya ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries for Eastport-South Manor (2-6).
Westhampton 27, Hauppauge 21: Deegan Laube had three interceptions to lead the defense for Westhampton (3-3) and he also starred on offense. Laube had three catches for 45 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown.
He also added 85 yards rushing on six carries.
Owen Spizuoco had five receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown and rushed for an 8-yard touchdown in the win.
Robert Moreland had 111 yards on 17 carries and Will Gambino completed 12 of 22 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for a 1-yard score for Westhampton.
Frankie Noto had six tackles and Hauppauge (2-5) had an unsuccessful onside kick with 34 seconds remaining after Vincent Barbera found Dylan Sas for an 8-yard touchdown pass.
Sayville 14, Islip 7: Jack Smalley found Chad Moccio for a 25-yard touchdown with two minutes remaining in the third quarter to break a tie at 7 for Sayville (7-0).
Mack Murtha had two interceptions and Jayson Filosa had six pass breakups in the win. Kyle Messina ran a 4-yard touchdown in the first quarter to open the scoring for Sayville. Islip falls to 5-2.
East Islip 38, Harborfields 0: Derek Burrell rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries and completed 6 of 9 passes for 101 yards to lead East Islip (6-1).
Leo Lopez had a 59-yard interception return for a score in the fourth quarter and Aiden Lenox added a 28-yard fumble recovery touchdown later in the quarter to cap the scoring.
Mike Baldino had a sack and a forced fumble and Lopez and Jason Fiorello each recovered fumbles. Harborfields falls to 2-4.
