Suffolk Division III football Week 8 recap
Hunter Lovinsky rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns, including the winner with 1:15 left in the fourth quarter to lift Deer Park over Islip 28-21 in Suffolk Division III Friday night. Lovinsky’s game-winning score came on a three-yard run. He scored his first touchdown on a three-yard run in the third quarter to extend the Deer Park lead to 20-7. Noah Fearon rushed eight times for 42 yards and a touchdown. Mathaias Edmond rushed 11 times for 63 yards. John Laird had two sacks and four tackles for Deer Park (5-2). Islip is 5-3.
East Islip 25, Kings Park 21: Derek Burrell rushed for 261 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and completed 3 of 4 passes for 36 yards for East Islip (7-1). Leo Lopez rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries and stopped Kings Park on 4th and goal at the 3-yard line in the third quarter. Kings Park quarterback Jonathan Borkowski carried the ball 25 times for 228 yards and a touchdown. Kings Park is 5-2.
Comsewogue 22, Half Hollow Hills West 13: Daimler Valerio ran for 134 yards on 15 carries Friday night. Giovanni Fragapagne ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Kevin Radmann made seven tackles and had an interception and Aaron Nieves had three saves for Consewogue (3-5). Half Hollow Hills West is 3-5.
Westhampton 35, Rocky Point 26: Robert Moreland rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and had a 15-yard fumble return to lead Westhampton (4-3) Thursday night. Cody Miller rushed for 200 yards and three scores on 17 carries for Rocky Point (2-6).
Sayville 28, Hauppauge 2: Mack Murtha and Jay Filosa returned interceptions for touchdowns to lead Sayville (8-0) in a 28-point first quarter.
Harborfields 30, Amityville 13: Shane Longin was 9-for-12 passing for a 120 yards and a touchdown and he rushed eight times for 75 yards and three touchdowns for Harborfields (3-4).
