Suffolk Division III football Week 4 recap
Derek Burrell rushed for 136 and a touchdown on 18 carries and completed 6 of 9 passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns in East Islip’s 37-15 win over Comsewogue in Suffolk Division III on Friday night.
Leo Lopez rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and Dave Reynolds ran three times for 37 yards for East Islip (4-0). Comsewogue is 1-3.
Deer Park 43, Eastport-South Manor 7: Hunter Lovinsky ran for two touchdowns and Logan Rhodes threw two touchdown passes Friday night. Lovinsky’s 45-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, followed by Nicholas Glancy’s extra point gave Deer Park a 7-0 lead. His 33-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, followed by an extra point, pushed the lead to 30-0.
Rhodes threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Alex Collins in the first quarter and a 22-yarder to Kerry Mercediue in the third. Lovinsky and Kris Thermitus each made an interception. John Laird and Kevin Bailey each had two sacks for Deer Park (3-1). Eastport-South Manor is 1-4.
Kings Park 49, Rocky Point 0: Jonathan Borkowski rushed for 161 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries and completed 7 of 8 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown for Kings Park (3-1). Nick Labita rushed for 106 yards on nine carries, including a 64-yard touchdown for the game’s final score.
Nico Laviano had 87 yards on seven carries, including a 5-yard touchdown. John Flynn had two receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown, Scott McConville led the defense with seven tackles and Mark Griffin had a sack in the win. Rocky Point falls to 2-2.
Islip 54, Amityville 14: Vinny Rosselli scored two touchdowns for Islip (3-1). Rosselli found the end zone on a two-yard run in the first quarter to start the scoring for the Bucs. He later added a 91-yard interception return for a touchdown to give Islip a 33-0 lead. Amityville is now 1-4.
