Tom Kent's late touchdown secures win for Mercy
Tom Kent's 20-yard touchdown run with 3:54 left in the fourth quarter thwarted a late Wyandanch rally Saturday and sealed a 32-22 win for Mercy in Suffolk IV. Mercy (3-0) led 26-2 entering the fourth before Wyandanch (0-3) scored twice early. Kent finished with 11 carries for 93 yards and two TDs. Reggie Archer rushed for 158 yards and a TD on 26 carries. Hampton Bays 40, Bayport-Blue Point 7: Devin Havens recovered a fumble in the end zone caused by Alex Lane's strip sack, and Trey Kennedy returned a kickoff 87 yards for a score to lead Hampton Bays (3-0). Cody Nolan ran for a TD.
Glenn 29, Center Moriches 7: Matt Shanerman and Mike Tufano connected for a pair of TD passes to lead Glenn (1-2) over Center Moriches (0-3). Shanerman added a 14-yard TD run. Ken Massa had eight tackles and TJ Tiernan had a sack and fumble recovery. Brandon Taylor opened the scoring with a 65-yard sweep run.
Shoreham-Wading River 34, Port Jefferson 6: Tyler Anderson ran for 143 yards and three TDs on 14 carries to lead SWR (2-1). Isreal Squires had two carries for 40 yards and a TD. Avery Friedman added 85 yards on 12 carries.
