Long Island boys and girls basketball's Hardwood Heroes
Carle Place’s Caitlin Leary scored 28 points and set the program's all-time scoring record in a 57-33 win over Wheatley on Thursday. She broke the record held by her sister, Erin. Caitlin finished the game with 1,278 points, surpassing Erin's mark of 1,276, according to coach Conor Reardon.

ALICE BECKETT, Division
She had 29 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in a 67-32 win over Hewlett.
EMMA BURMEISTER, Lindenhurst
She had 23 points, including the winning free throw with 20 seconds left, and seven rebounds in a 49-48 win over Sachem North.
MAKAYLA DAUBE, Mepham
She had 21 points and 29 rebounds in a 56-35 win over Long Beach.
MEAGHAN DOHERTY, Stony Brook School
She had 27 points and seven rebounds in a 71-36 win over Portledge.
SHY HAWKINS, Floyd
She had 28 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three blocks in a 67-47 win over Patchogue-Medford.
BRIANA NEARY, Massapequa
She had 25 points and reached 1,000 for her career in a 58-49 win over Freeport.
EMMA POLAND, East Rockaway
She had 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 54-27 win over Wheatley. She had 24 points and 14 rebounds in a 50-28 win over West Hempstead.

She had 21 points and eight steals in a 48-34 win over Islip.

He scored 30 points in a 76-59 win over Wantagh.

He had a triple-double with 11 points, 11 assists and 11 steals in a 76-59 win over Wantagh. He also had seven rebounds.

He had 23 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in a 64-54 win over Whitman.

He scored 30 points in a 67-50 win over Shoreham-Wading River.

He scored a career-high 36 points and went 20-for-22 from the free-throw line in an 81-71 win over Hampton Bays.

He hit the winning three-pointer as time expired in a 49-46 win over Plainedge, which clinched the Nassau Conference A-VI title for North.
