Our annual look at the top girls golfers in Long Island high schools for the spring season, listed in alphabetical order. (All stats listed are from last year, except where noted.

Palwasha Ali, Sewanhaka District, Sr.

Ali moves from Glenn, where she captured the Suffolk individual crown shooting 157 at Middle Island Country Club. She was the top finisher from Long Island at the state championship, tying for 10th with an 8-over 152 at The Edison Club in upstate Rexford.

Madison Chen, Manhasset, Jr.

Chen was the runner-up at the Nassau individual championship with a 3-under 139 on Bethpage green. She tied for 21st at the state championship with rounds of 82-78.

Sophia Corso, Smithtown East, Sr.

Corso shot 169 at the Suffolk individual championship to tie for fourth.

Ava Estrella, Friends Academy, Jr.

Estrella finished third at the Nassau county championship with rounds of 73-76.

Vanessa Fieschel, Sachem, Sr.

Fieschel shot 176 at the Suffolk individual championship to finish fifth and also shot 177 at the state championship.

Ella Girard, Ward Melville, Jr.

Girard was the Suffolk individual runner-up with a 163 and finished tied for 23rd at the state championship with a 161.

Bridget LaRosa, Kellenberg, Sr.

LaRosa finished second in the NSCHSGAA championship and third in the state CHSAA championship.

Emilia Parlow, St. Anthony’s, Fr.

As an eighth-grader competing for Commack, Parlow finished third at the Suffolk individual tournament with a 167 and tied for 34th at the state championship, carding a 168.

Elie Poremba, Southampton, Fr.

Poremba tied for fourth at the Suffolk individual championship with a 169 to lead Southampton to the team title. She finished tied for 32nd at the state championship with a 166.

Caylin Wong, Great Neck District, Jr.

Wong was the Nassau individual champion and helped lead Great Neck District to another county championship by shooting a 4-under 138 at the two-day event. She tied for 14th at the state championship with rounds of 78 - 79.
