Top 10 gymnasts for the 2021 season
A look at the top gymnasts, in alphabetical order, to begin the 2021 gymnastics season in Nassau County:
Emma Bergsohn, Carle Place, Jr.: Bergsohn finished tied for eighth on the balance beam (9.25) at last year’s state meet.
Stefanie Carta, Port Washington, Jr.: Carta tied for ninth place in the all-around (34.775), finished fifth on the vault (8.950) and fourth on the uneven bars (8.85) at last year’s state meet.
Allison Cohen, Long Beach, Sr.: Cohen finished fifth in the all-around (35.2) and 10th on the balance beam (8.9) at last year’s state qualifier.
Julianna Feliz, Bethpage, Jr.: Feliz tied for ninth in the all-around (34.77), 10th on the vault (8.65) and 10th on the uneven bars (8.65) at last year’s state qualifier.
Allie Jacobs, Syosset, Jr.: Jacobs was seventh in the all-around (36.0) and fifth on the balance beam (9.375) at last year’s state meet. She finished third in the all-around (35.675), ninth on the vault (8.825), ninth on the uneven bars (8.7), ninth on the balance beam (8.925) and ninth in the floor exercise (9.225) at last year’s state qualifier.
Jenna Kolberg, Syosset, So.: Kolberg finished fourth in the all-around (35.3) and seventh on the vault (8.875) at last year’s state qualifier for Syosset, which finished second in the team scoring.
Kaylei McDonald, Valley Stream, Sr.: McDonald, of Valley Stream South, came in seventh in the all-around (35.05), second on the vault (9.25) and third in the floor exercise (9.4) at last year’s state qualifier.
Payton Sack, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, Jr.: Sack, a captain for the defending county champions, finished 11th in the all-around (34.4) and sixth on the vault (8.9) at last year’s state qualifier.
Alyssa Sanborn, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, So.: Sanborn came in 10th in the all-around (34.675) and tied for 11th in the vault (8.700) at last year’s state qualifier.
Shani Sirota, Roslyn, Jr.: Sirota came in fourth in the all-around (37.025), third on the vault (9.625) and fourth in the uneven bars (9.4) at last year’s state meet. She was first in the all-around (37.975), vault (9.675), uneven bars (9.3) and balance beam (9.65) at last year’s state qualifier.
