High school sports roundup: CJ Forman tosses Longwood's first perfect game; more baseball, softball, lacrosse, flag football
CJ Forman pitched a perfect game on 72 pitches, striking out eight batters across seven innings to lead Longwood baseball to a 19-0 win over Riverhead in Suffolk I.
Forman is the first Longwood baseball player to pitch a perfect game since the school began tracking such stats in 1970, according to coach Ryan McSherry. Jaden Urso, Jagger Franco and Timmy Kaleb had two hits each for Longwood (8-4). Danny Gagliano scored three runs.
Rocky Point 8, East Hampton 1: AJ Aschettino was 2-for-2 with a leadoff home run, two RBIs, two runs and two walks for Rocky Point (5-9) in Suffolk V. Matthew Sakalis was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs. Jeremy Graham pitched 6 1⁄3 innings, giving up one hit and striking out nine.
Comsewogue 6, Huntington 0: Nick Zampieron pitched a shutout, striking out 11 and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run to lead Comsewogue (11-3) in Suffolk IV. Carson McCaffrey went 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI.
Floyd 11, Patchogue-Medford 5: Isaac Avalos hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth to tie the score at 5 for Floyd (11-3). Aiden Dobrie collected three hits.
THURSDAY’S GAMES
Bay Shore 3, Islip 2: Andrew Schaaf went 1-for-3 and scored the winning run on a walk-off walk for Bay Shore (2-11) in non-league. Armani Smith had a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to drive in Jordan Drago and Casey Opatovsky to tie the score at 2. Daniel Hansen threw a scoreless final inning for Bay Shore. Dylan Broschart pitched a one-hitter across five innings for Islip (6-7).
SOFTBALL
Westhampton 17, Rocky Point 5: Rylee McGinness had three hits and six RBIs to lead Westhampton (10-3) in Suffolk V. Katie Burke had a double, a triple, three RBIs and three runs in the victory. Winning pitcher Addison Celi struck out nine in three innings and added a triple and two RBIs.
Mepham 4, East Meadow 3: Jess Heine drove in Lia Murray with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead Mepham (2-10). Brianna Davis went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, and Alyssa Cinquemani went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Giselle DeLutri pitched the final two innings to earn the victory.

Glen Cove 6, Long Beach 5: Eighth-grader Natalie Weigand walked the game off with her third hit of the day in the bottom of the seventh and earned the win in the circle to lead Glen Cove (8-2) in Nassau III. Mia Lupinski picked up the tying RBI in the bottom of the seventh and went 3-for-4.
Massapequa 8, Bellmore JFK 2: Lauren O’Brien hit a three-run inside-the-park homer in the top of the third for Massapequa (10-3) in a Nassau I win. Annalise Lane added a two-run single in that inning. Samantha Dodick had a pinch-hit solo homer. Shea Santiago earned a complete-game victory.
BOYS LACROSSE
Syosset 17, Herricks 10: Gio Accardo had eight assists and scored one goal to lead Syosset (5-6) in Nassau A. David Disque scored four goals and had two assists. Nick Turner and Brody Waxer scored four goals each with Waxer adding an assist.
Sachem East 13, North Babylon 4: AJ Carlo had five goals and one assist and Carmine Jaconi had one goal and seven assists to lead Sachem East (4-7) in Suffolk I. Joseph D’Orazio had two goals and two assists. Joe Kalhorn had nine saves for North Babylon (2-10).

Babylon 4, Mattituck 3: Colin O’Brien scored in triple overtime to lead Babylon (7-2) to a Suffolk II win. Ben Dellafranca scored two goals, and Brady Shaw won 10 of 11 faceoffs. Andrew McKenzie made nine saves for Mattituck (1-10).
Shoreham-Wading River 16, Westhampton 6: Liam Kershis had five goals and five assists to lead Shoreham-Wading River (8-2) in Suffolk II. Noah Gregorek had three goals and two assists. Jaden Galfano made 11 saves.
St. Anthony’s 19, Stepinac 2: Quinn Langton had two goals and three assists and Luke Breslin had four goals and one assist to lead St. Anthony’s (8-2) to a non-league win. John Riglietti had two goals and two assists. Giovanni Massaro had three goals and one assist.
West Babylon 15, Deer Park 1: Antosh Borawski scored seven goals, all in the first half, to lead West Babylon (4-7) to a Suffolk II win. Thomas Raccomandato had three goals and three assists, and Zach Scott had two goals and four assists.

Whitman 14, Longwood 13: Brittny Cisneros Campos had 10 flag pulls and four sacks and added over 150 all-purpose yards on offense to lead Whitman (7-2) in Suffolk I. Iris Hoffman had 80 yards and a touchdown.
