Alanna Schechtman and Abigayle Finkelstein each scored a first-half goal to lead No. 11 Bellmore JFK to a 2-1 win over No. 6 Bethpage in the first round of the Nassau Class AA girls soccer playoffs on Monday. Alexa Wohlleben had an assist and Kathryn Powder made 12 saves. Megan Rebosa scored a goal and Sofia Maciel-Seidman made eight saves for Bethpage, which finished 5-8-1. Bellmore JFK (7-3-4) will visit No. 3 MacArthur in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Bay Shore/Islip 1, Patchogue-Medford 0: With five seconds left in the third quarter, Chelsea Kluepfel redirected Abby DeNatalie’s shot for the only goal of No. 4 Bay Shore/Islip’s win over No. 5 Patchogue-Medford in the Suffolk Class A quarterfinals. Sabrina Frazer made nine saves. Kate Comiskey made six saves for Patchogue-Medford, which finished 11-5. Bay Shore/Islip (11-6) will visit No. 1 Northport at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals.

Ward Melville 1, Sachem North 0: Peyton Philips scored off an assist from Alexa Kidd on a penalty corner as time expired in the second quarter to lead No. 2 Ward Melville over No. 10 Sachem North in the Suffolk Class A quarterfinals. Kaylise McClure made 24 saves for Sachem North, which finished 7-9. Ward Melville (15-2) will host the winner of No. 3 Sachem East/No. 11 Newfield in the semifinals at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Northport 4, Whitman 0: Kenzie Bliven scored two goals to lead No. 1 Northport over No. 8 Whitman in the Suffolk Class A quarterfinals. Abby Semple and Caeley Monez each scored a goal for Northport (14-1). Leah LaMay made 20 saves for Whitman, which finished 11-6.

BOYS SOCCER

Half Hollow Hills West 5, Hampton Bays 1: Matt Bender scored two goals and Ryan Levy had three assists to lead No. 8 Half Hollow Hills West over No. 9 Hampton Bays in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Marco D’Alessandro, Luke Bradley and Logan Seltzer each added a goal and Marcus DeGregorio made three saves. Charlie Garcia scored a goal and Justin Guanga made seven saves for Hampton Bays, which finished 8-6. Half Hollow Hills West (9-6-2) will visit No. 1 Harborfields at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the quarterfinals.

Stony Brook School 10, Kew Forest 0: Daniel He had two goals and an assist and Luka Philip-Ipko had two goals to lead Stony Brook School over Kew Forest in the PSAA quarterfinals. Edward Kim had a goal and two assists and James Fay and Aiden Ruiz each had a goal and an assist. Aidan Riley, Jayson Amin and AJ Mortimer each scored a goal. Stony Brook School (6-5-2) will host Heschel School in the semifinals at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

GIRLS TENNIS

Syosset 7, Great Neck South 0: Julia Isham and Taylor Weinstock defeated Megan Chan and Alexis Chien, 6-1, 6-3, at second doubles to lead No. 1 Syosset over No. 4 Great Neck South in the Nassau Large School semifinals. Syosset (16-0) will face the winner of No. 7 Garden City/No. 3 Hewlett in the final on Monday, Oct. 30 at Hofstra.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Connetquot 3, Whitman 1: Cadence Brown had 16 kills and two blocks and Leah White had 58 assists and seven aces to lead No. 7 Connetquot over No. 10 Whitman in the first round of the Suffolk Class AAA playoffs. Alex Patsos had 16 kills and six aces and Jessica Farrell had nine aces and eight kills. Connetquot (9-6) will visit No. 2 Ward Melville in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Whitman finished 6-10.

Farmingdale 3, Hicksville 0: Molly O’Flynn had 10 kills, six digs and two aces to lead Farmingdale to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-17 win in Nassau IV. Kaitlyn Kayserilioglu had five kills and three aces. Theresa Schmitt had seven kills and Ashlinn Kelly had 13 digs for Farmingdale (14-1).

SUNDAY’S GAME

Mepham 3, Manhasset 2: Sophia Green had 13 kills, three aces and 20 digs to lead Mepham (4-10) to a 25-20, 21-25, 16-25, 25-20, 15-8 win in Nassau I. Sam Bremer added 11 digs and six blocks.

SATURDAY’S GAME

Mineola 3, Long Beach 2: Julianna Speranza had 14 kills and 10 digs to lead Mineola (11-2) to a 19-25, 25-18, 25-9, 22-25, 15-4 win in Nassau I. Elizabeth Kenney had 38 assists and 14 digs. Caitlin Kenney and Keira McCaffrey each had 15 kills.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

West Hempstead 3, Floral Park 0: Aden Palmer had 12 kills and four aces and Stephen Schreck had 24 assists and three kills to lead West Hempstead (12-2) to a 25-20, 26-24, 25-11 win in Nassau II-B. Jeremy Ramos Romero added 16 digs. Michelet Sainvilus and Ryan Merle each had four blocks.
