St. Anthony’s girls tennis claimed its second consecutive state Catholic girls tennis team championship Thursday as Madison Neary and Devan Lange won the second doubles match in straight sets — without dropping a game — as the Friars topped Archdiocese of New York champion Dominican Academy from Manhattan, 4-1, at the National Tennis Center in Queens.

Peighton McNulty and Isabella Taddeo posted a 6-0, 6-4 win at first doubles to complete the doubles sweep for St. Anthony’s (11-0). Janita Files won at second singles, 6-2, 6-4, and Jenna Famolari won at third singles, 6-1, 6-2.

BOYS SOCCER

Mineola 0, Locust Valley 0 (MIN advances 4-2 in PKs): Greg Vescovi powered the game-winning penalty kick into the left side of the goal, lifting No. 1 Mineola to a home win over No. 8 Locust Valley in the Nassau Class A quarterfinal round. Tied 0-0 through regular time and overtime, Mike Palumbo, Adryan Campos and Leonel Carillo added goals from the penalty spot in the shootout. Jesse Kostulias had six saves and prevented two penalty kicks. Owen Pye finished with six saves for Locust Valley, which ends the season with a 7-6-3 record. Mineola (14-1) will face No. 4 Lawrence in the semifinal round on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.

Floral Park 3, Plainedge 2: Ned Devine scored a goal to lead No. 3 Floral Park over No. 6 Plainedge in the Nassau Class A quarterfinals. Conor McCarthy and Charlie McCarren each added a goal as the Knights scored three straight goals to start the second half. Oscar Dalton made seven saves. Floral Park (11-3-1) will visit No. 2 North Shore in the semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Mitchel Athletic Complex. Plainedge finished 9-4-1.

Wednesday’s game

Syosset 1, Hempstead 0: Jake Dapice scored the game-winning goal with 15 minutes remaining in the second half off an assist from Jorge Rondo to lift No. 3 Syosset to a home win over No. 6 Hempstead in the Nassau AAA quarterfinals. David Cruz made five saves for Hempstead, which finishes the season with a 5-5-3 record. Syosset (8-1-6) will face No. 7 Uniondale in the semifinal round Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Farmingdale State College at 8:30 p.m.

FIELD HOCKEY

East Islip 1, East Hampton 0: Sarai Murria scored the only goal in the first quarter with 2:55 left to lead No. 9 East Islip over No. 8 East Hampton in the first round of the Suffolk Class B playoffs. Cassie Dodenhoff made two saves for the shutout. East Islip (10-7) will travel to No. 1 Miller Place on Monday for the quarterfinals. East Hampton finished 9-8.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Ward Melville 3, Bay Shore 1: Kyle Fagan recorded his 1,000th kill to lead Ward Melville (13-1), 22-25, 25-18, 32-30, 25-23 in Suffolk I.

Eastport-South Manor 3, Smithtown West 0: Ayden DesLauriers racked up 26 kills and nine digs to lead Eastport-South Manor (14-0) in three sets, 25-14, 25-11, 25-14, in Suffolk I. Bill Kropp collected his 450th career win as the boys varsity volleyball coach, with an additional 222 career wins in his career as a girls varsity coach. ESM will host the Suffolk Class B semifinals match at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Wednesday’s games

Lindenhurst 3, Sachem North 2: Andie Fortmeyer had 17 kills and 10 blocks, and Adela Marques had 28 assists, 15 digs and five aces as Lindenhurst (8-7) battled back to win, 15-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-13, in Suffolk II. Kylie DiMenna had 24 kills for Sachem North (9-7).

Sayville 3, Hampton Bays 0: Makenzie Muscarello recorded her 1,000th varsity dig as Sayville (15-0) stayed undefeated to win, 25-17, 25-6, 25-19, and clinch the Suffolk VI title.

GYMNASTICS

Middle Country 168.9, Connetquot 138.55: Madisyn Rodriguez took first in all-around, beam and floor, and placed second on bars and third on vault to lead Middle Country (11-0) in Suffolk I. Samantha Schiano placed first on vault with a 8.55 and second on beam with a 8.75. Joviella Vranich and Gabriella Schiano tied for second on floor with a 8.9.

BOYS GOLF

Southampton 8.5, Comsewogue/Miller Place 0.5: Ethan Heuer shot even-par 34 on the front nine at Southampton Golf Club to lead No. 9 Southampton past No. 24 Comsewogue/Miller Place in the first round of the Suffolk playoffs. Southampton (9-2) will face No. 8 Babylon on Monday at 3 p.m. in the second round of the postseason. Comsewogue/Miller Place finished 7-4.
