Janita Files defeated Emma Mengeler at second singles, 6-2, 1-6, 10-5, to help host St. Anthony’s defeat St. Francis Prep, 6-1, in the NSCHSGAA girls tennis championship Tuesday. The Friars secured their second consecutive league title. Jenna Famolari defeated Searba Giannis 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.

St. Anthony’s (8-0) will face a to-be-determined opponent in the state CHSAA semifinals next Wednesday at the National Tennis Center in Queens.

North Shore 3, Wheatley 0: Serena Modi and Jamie Ko posted a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 victory at second doubles as host North Shore won a Nassau small school semifinal Wednesday. The Vikings (12-3) will be playing in the school’s first county championship match at 3 p.m. Thursday when they meet top-seeded Cold Spring Harbor (7-8) at Massapequa High School. North Shore also got straight-set victories at second singles from Natalie Ion and at third doubles from the team of Brynn Paulinski and CC Papiro.

Cold Spring Harbor defeated Friends Academy, 3-2 in the other semifinal.

BOYS SOCCER

Carle Place 6, Oyster Bay 0: Ryan Leary had three goals and two assists to lead Carle Place (12-2-2) in Nassau AB-III Wednesday. Carle Place clinched the AB-III conference title with the win, according to coach Conor Reardon. Stratos Mehalakes had two goals and an assist. Cristiano Costa had a goal.

Northport 2, Huntington 1: Jace DiPalo had a goal and an assist to lead Northport (8-4-1) in Suffolk IV. Thomas Fierro had a goal. Aidan Kelly made seven saves. Jonathan Morales scored a goal and Nick Plachta made seven saves for Huntington (3-9-1).

GIRLS SOCCER

Plainedge 4, North Shore 2: Maddie Wade had a hat trick to lead Plainedge (6-1-3) in Nassau A/B-I. Avery Peters had two assists, Amanda Martone had a goal and an assist and Cayla Bloom made seven saves. Erin Lily La Rosa and Ally Basile each scored a goal for North Shore (7-4-2).

Division 1, Carey 1: Amelia Kalamaras scored for Carey (7-1-5) off an assist from Christina Genovese for the equalizer, leading to a tie in Nassau AAA/AA-III. Kaitlyn Zitarosa had eight saves. Rebecca Petrellese scored in the first half for Division (7-4-4), and Antonia Bruno made nine saves.

Clarke 1, Oyster Bay 0: Alexis Jose scored the winning goal with 1:30 left in regulation to lead Clarke (5-3-2) in Nassau A/B-III. Allison DeLuca had the winning assist and Roxanna David made nine saves. Ellie Mazur made five saves for Oyster Bay (7-4-2).

Mattituck/Greenport/Southold 3, Miller Place 2: Devin Stanton scored the second of her two goals 1:14 into the second overtime period to lead Mattituck/Greenport/Southold (7-6) in Suffolk VII. Page Kellershon had the winning assist. Reece McKenna scored a goal. Mia Soler and Natalia Soler each had a goal for Miller Place (2-8).

FIELD HOCKEY

East Meadow 6, Great Neck North 0: Gianna Ventura had three goals and two assists and Gabriella Shepherd had a goal and two assists to lead East Meadow (11-1) in Nassau II. Anna Barbieri and Kayla Lederer each had a goal. Medalyn Ye made 12 saves for Great Neck North (6-4).

Huntington 2, Riverhead 0: Daniella Grotto’s two goals, both assisted by Caroline Mitek, lifted Huntington (7-5-1) to a win in Suffolk I. Kathleen Cocoman made six saves to keep the net clean. Sara Maas led Riverhead (4-8) with three saves.

Newfield 3, Copiague 0: Emma Fernandes had a goal and an assist to lead Newfield (4-9) in Suffolk I. Julianna Baldante and Charlotte Riccio each scored a goal. Emma Luvera made 22 saves for Copiague (1-11).

Tuesday’s match

Lynbrook 3, Plainedge 2: Brady Rogan had 57 assists, four aces and two blocks to lead Lynbrook (8-3) to a 25-22, 21-25, 22-25, 25-23, 18-16 win in Nassau II. Joe Woods had 23 kills and 16 digs, Andrew Malinka added 14 kills and five blocks and Josh Albert had 14 kills.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Centereach 3, Bellport 1: Francesca Vera had eight kills and three blocks while Chloe Arnaiz added 16 kills to help Centereach (6-4) to a four-set win, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17, 25-22, over Bellport (5-8) in Suffolk III. Kayleigh Balsamo added 22 assists.

Commack 3, Copiague 0: Kaitlin Curran had 15 kills to lead Commack (13-0) to a 25-15, 25-11, 25-15 win in Suffolk II.

Tuesday’s match

Huntington 3, Amityville 2: Brianna Borenstein had 32 kills to lead Huntington (5-5) to a 26-28, 14-25, 25-12, 25-22, 15-9 comeback win in Suffolk III. Borenstein set a career-high and tied a Huntington school record for most kills in a match during the rally-scoring era, according to coach Todd Donaghy. Lauren Donaghy had 40 assists, seven kills and six aces.
