Ayla Abate scored the winning goal with 3:45 left in the fourth quarter to break a tie at 4 and give Clarke a 5-4 victory over Island Trees in Nassau Conference IV girls lacrosse on Thursday. Madison DeLeon scored with 4:42 left in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 4 for Clarke (4-2) and Lauren Foley made two key saves in the final 1:30 to preserve the victory. Abate finished with three goals.

Massapequa 13, Kellenberg 11: Allison Petrullo had three goals and two assists, including scoring the winner with two minutes left, for Massapequa (4-2) in non-league. Morgan Farrell had four goals and three assists for Kellenberg (2-6).
Cold Spring Harbor 8, North Shore 4: Maggie Spehr scored three goals and Amelia Bentley had three assists to lead Cold Spring Harbor (7-1) in Nassau I. Ryan Reynolds had two goals and one assist. Maya Soskin made seven saves.
Garden City 8, Wantagh 6: Kyle Finnell had four goals and an assist to lead Garden City (7-1). Garden City outscored Wantagh 4-1 in the fourth quarter.
Great Neck North 14, Malverne/East Rockaway 13: Emily Noghrei had six goals and Gabby Feder had three goals for Great Neck North (1-5-1) in Nassau IV.

Westhampton 7, Harborfields 6: Heath Sumwalt scored with 1:47 left in the second overtime for Westhampton (6-4) in Suffolk II. Sumwalt finished with three goals and Charlie Beasley had one assist and made 17 saves. Colin McCarthy scored three goals and Charlie Serafin made 15 saves for Harborfields (5-4).
Herricks 9, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 6: Troy Madden had three goals and two assists and Riley Royals added two goals for Herricks (6-3) in Nassau A. Madden and Royals both surpassed 100 points at Herricks, according to coach Mike Chin.
BASEBALL
Babylon 1, Southampton 0: Gavin McDonnell had eight strikeouts and scattered two hits in a complete game and went 1-for-2 to lead Babylon (7-3) in Suffolk VII. Johnny Harkins went 2-for-2 with a double and two stolen bases. Harkins had a leadoff single and stole second and third base before scoring on Gio Rodriguez’s groundout to first base in the first inning.

North Babylon 3, Centereach 0: Tim Camier and Chris Stumpf combined on a no-hitter for North Babylon (6-5) in Suffolk III. Camier had six strikeouts and allowed six walks across 5 1⁄3 innings and Stumpf retired all five batters he faced with two strikeouts. Stumpf entered with two runners on in the sixth and recorded two groundouts.
Justin Dumeng drove in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning on a fielder’s choice. Stumpf was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs. Tommy Morton was 2-for-3 with a RBI.

Plainedge 8, Carle Place 5: Imogen Eaton went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs for Plainedge (7-3) in Nassau III. Eaton’s two-run home run in the sixth inning gave Plainedge a 7-5 lead.
Calhoun 7, Oceanside 5: Johanna Esposito had a two-run double and struck out six in a complete game to lead Calhoun (8-2) in Nassau I. Gianna Lucchi had a two-run single and a triple.
Gia Pisicchio went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Gianna Haniff went 3-for-4 with three doubles.
Clarke 8, Division 5: Maddy Millman hit a two-run home run and Ava Porth added a solo homer in the first inning to lead Clarke (4-6) in Nassau II. Destiny Cervantes allowed one run with three strikeouts in four innings.

Whitman 19, Ward Melville 13: Iris Hoffman caught two touchdown passes from Madi Richter of 25 and 10 yards and found Brianna Verga for a 6-yard touchdown to lead Whitman (5-2) in Suffolk I. Brittny Cisneros Campos had 96 rushing yards on 12 carries and six flag pulls. Nevin Letren had an interception. Julia Dank ran for two touchdowns for Ward Melville (2-3).
Lynbrook 13, Locust Valley 12: Gaby Ramirez had a 10-yard receiving touchdown and a 40-yard rushing touchdown for Lynbrook (4-3) in Nassau II. Aliye Simsek led the Owls with 92 yards rushing. Simsek connected with Mikayla D’Ambrosio for the extra point off Ramirez’s touchdown reception which proved to be the winning point.
D’Ambrosio, Lucia Palumbo and Katie Sharkey had eight flag pulls each. Heather Loeffler had a 70-yard rushing touchdown for Locust Valley (1-5).
