Jim Brown leads inaugural class of Nassau high school hall of fame inductees

Jim Brown, a multi-sport star at Manhasset High School who is considered by many to be the all-time greatest player in both football and lacrosse on Long Island, headlines a group of 28 athletes, coaches and administrators who will be inducted into the new Nassau County High School Athletics Hall of Fame on Sept. 30 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Joining Brown into the Hall Cold Spring Harbor basketball star Wally Szczerbiak; Garden City field hockey and girls lacrosse coach Diane Chapman; Freeport football and wrestling standout Morlon Greenwood, Oceanside quarterback Jay Fiedler, and football coaches Howie Vogts (Bethpage), Buddy Krumenacker (Hempstead, Farmingdale), Tom Flatley (Garden City) and Don Snyder (Farmingdale).
Ticket information is available online at www.nassauboces.org under Interscholastic Athletics. Tickets are $65; reservations accepted through Sept. 24.
