1. SAYVILLE FOOTBALL The Golden Flashes extended Long Island’s longest football win streak to 17. The defending Long Island Class III champions downed Eastport-South Manor, 42-14, last week. Quarterback Jack Coan, a Wisconsin commit, completed 17 of 25 passes for 245 yards and four scores. Halfback Ashton Bradley added 139 yards on 15 carries and a score. Sayville travels to preseason top seed East Islip Saturday at 2 p.m.

2. CONNETQUOT GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Smithtown East was able to grab a set from the Thunderbirds — the first time any team has done so this year — but Connetquot prevailed, 3-1. There isn’t a team around that can match Connetquot’s combination of depth and star players, like Mackenzie Cole and Nicole Migliozzi.

3. WARD MELVILLE FIELD HOCKEY The defending Long Island Class A champions improved to 12-0 after defeating the reigning Long Island Class B champions of Garden City, 2-1.

4. EASTPORT SOUTH MANOR BOYS VOLLEYBALL Parker Bachisin had 27 assists, Ryan Byrne had 18 kills and 11 digs, and Brennen Brandow had 11 digs to lead the Sharks (9-0) to a four-set win over Sayville.

5. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS SOCCER The Friars had a pair of seven-goal games last week, led by two goals and three assists by Francesca Picicci and four goals and an assist by Sabrina Cristodero in the two matches.

6. ST. ANTHONY’S BOYS SOCCER The Friars followed their scoreless draw against Chaminade with five straight wins, outscoring opponents, 21-2. They defeated Massapequa, 2-1, on Dom D’Angelo’s second-half header.

7. MASSAPEQUA GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Straight-sets wins over East Meadow and Syosset show that the Chiefs are exactly where they need to be at this point in the season getting ready for another post-season run at the Nassau title. Jamie Smith had 21 aces and 18 kills this week.

8. SACHEM NORTH BOYS VOLLEYBALL Jack Driscoll had 26 assists, and Connor Pallman and Sean Hannett both added eight kills to lead Sachem North to a straight-set win against Hauppauge.

9. SHOREHAM-WADING RIVER GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY The Wildcats keep dominating. Katherine Lee’s 14:19.9 victory on the 4K course in the Varsity D race at the Manhattan Invitational led her team to the best score of any competing Class B (N.Y.) school, according to the website Milesplit. Alexandra Hays was second in 15:03.1.

10. ST. ANTHONY’S BOYS CROSS COUNTRY The Friars won the Varsity D race at the Manhattan Invitational. Skip Morrell was sixth on the 4K course in 13:15.6 and Matthew Payamps was seventh in 13:16.3.
