High school sports roundup: Softball, baseball, girls lacrosse, boys basketball

Charlotte Barry allowed no earned runs, struck out nine, had a hit and an RBI in Bellport’s 3-1 win over Centereach in Suffolk IV softball on Monday. Meaghan DeLillo went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Rosie Padilla drove in a run. Gianna Brown had a hit and scored a run for Bellport (2-1).

Calhoun 7, Bethpage 0: Madison Martin struck out seven over five innings and went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Calhoun (2-1) in non-league. Megan Hobdy went 3-for-4 with a double and closed the game, striking out four over two innings. Ava Leo went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Adriana Lazo had two hits and an RBI. Lily Napoli went 2-for-4 and Adriana Kayantas hit a double. Hayley Soe and Rylee Petruskie each hit a double for Bethpage (2-1).

BASEBALL

West Babylon 8, Deer Park 0: Anthony Gerbasio pitched six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out 12 to lead West Babylon (1-0) in Suffolk IV. Josh Gomez went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a stolen base. Matt Critchly went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Xavier Estevez and Dean Geiger both recorded their first varsity hits. Nick Hoffman had two strikeouts in relief.

GIRLS LACROSSE

South Side 19, Seaford 10: Charlotte Rathjen scored five goals and had two assists to lead South Side (3-0) in Nassau I. Skye Korten had two goals and three assists. Annie Chimienti had two goals and four assists. Sienna Connolly scored three goals. Jessica Grzelaczyk and Kelly Harrington each had two goals and two assists for Seaford (1-2).

Long Island Lutheran 71, Allen 68: Kiyan Anthony scored 25 points to lead No. 2 Long Island Lutheran over No. 4 Allen in the championship game of The Throne National Championship in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Dylan Mingo had 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kayden Mingo had 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Nigel James had eight points, five rebounds and four assists. LuHi (24-6) will finish its season at the Chipotle Nationals in Fishers, Indiana, this week.
