1. WANTAGH WRESTLING

The Warriors won the Ted Petersen Tournament at Island Trees scoring 374 points and crowing six champions., 192 ahead of runner-up Plainedge. Wantagh had 12 finalists and six champions, including undefeated Jay Rodriguez at 99 pounds. The Warriors are 15-0 in dual meets and have won three tournaments.

2. SMITHTOWN BOYS BOWLING

Gregg Reed capped 2011 with a 300 on Dec. 22 in the Bulls' last game of the year, and he bowled a 278 on Jan. 5 as his team improved to 8-0. Smithtown has a 1,037 team average

3. EAST ISLIP GIRLS BOWLING

Kristina Freitag, Kelsey Fryer and Alexa DeFazio each had 600 series as East Islip defeated Sachem East to improve to 8-0. The soaring Redmen have a 1,028 team average.

4. ST. ANTHONY'S ICE HOCKEY

The Friars are dominating the CHSHL, allowing fewer than two goals per contest. A 7-1 victory over Chaminade Friday kept the Friars rolling through the conference.

5. WARD MELVILLE GIRLS FENCING

The Patriots moved to 5-0 with a 24-3 win over Brentwood. Ward Melville will go for its 150th straight win this week against Huntington.

6. LONG ISLAND LUTHERAN BOYS BASKETBALL

Brandon Alford's career-high 20 points sparked a 74-63 victory over Transit Tech. Junior Kentan Facey (17 points) is starting to dominate inside and the Crusaders' guard rotation is taking shape.

7. LONG ISLAND LUTHERAN GIRLS BASKETBALL

Boogie Brozoski had 12 points and five assists in a 60-31 win over Notre Dame Academy. Brozoski and Yuni Sher each scored nine points in a 42-37 win over Archbishop Wood in the Pro Hoops Philly vs. New York Challenge.

8. CONNETQUOT WRESTLING

The Thunderbirds have vaulted to the second spot in the wrestling rankings because of their convincing win at the 49th annual Massapequa Tournament. Connetquot won the highly competitive Smithtown Tournament by two points over Hauppauge, 267-265. Joey Gates had a stunning win in the finals at 132 pounds to win the tournament. Gates was trailing 9-1 and pinned undefeated Nick Mauriello in 5:02.

9. ST. ANTHONY'S GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Friars defeated St. John the Baptist, 56-34. Chastity Taylor had 17 points and seven rebounds. St. Anthony's then lost to nationally ranked Archbishop Carroll, 57-48, in the Pro Hoops Philly vs. New York Challenge. Symone Kelly had 14 points and eight rebounds.

10. CONNETQUOT/SAYVILLE ICE HOCKEY

The T-Birds moved into the No. 10 spot after a huge 5-3 victory over previously unbeated Smithtown on Monday night. Forward Brian Fenster had two goals and scored the eventual winner that put Connetquot-Sayville ahead, 4-2. The T-Birds extended their winning streak to 12.
