AL ARBOUR NIGHT
Legendary coach Al Arbour had a banner raised in his honor with the number 739 signifying his wins as head coach. But on November 3, 2007, the Islanders invited Arbour back one more time to coach game No. 1500 with the team. Arbour became the oldest man to coach an NHL game at 75, leading the Isles to a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh. After the win, the 739 banner was replaced with a new 1500 banner. |
