As Newsday's Arthur Staple reported yesterday, RIck DiPietro has been activated off IR; he could play as early as tomorrow against Carolina at RBC Center.

With Justin DiBenedetto sent back to Bridgeport, the Islanders recalled Jesse Joensuu for the team's three game swing making stops in Carolina, Florida and Tampa.

20-year-old defenseman Aaron Ness, who recently left the University of Minnesota and signed an entry-level deal with the Islanders yesterday, will make his debut for the Sound Tigers tomorrow against Charlotte.
