Isles return home for rematch against Pens
Following a feisty 4-3 shootout win over the Habs at Bell Centre last night, the Islanders return home to Nassau Coliseum for a rematch with the Penguins since their 3-0 shutout loss in Pittsburgh last week.
Of course that game featured Rick DiPietro dropped with one punch from goaltender Brent Johnson, a lopsided fight that left DiPietro with facial fractures and knee swelling that will keep him out four to six weeks.
Marc-Andre Fleury got the start last night for Pittsburgh, who beat the Kings 2-1 on Jordan Staal's overtime winner at Consol Energy Center, so it's conceivable that Johnson could be in goal tonight for the Penguins.
Forward Max Talbot also drew the ire of several Islanders after his blindside hit on Blake Comeau that left the Islanders winger with a concussion.
Over the past week, the Islanders have expressed frustration with opposing teams taking runs at their skill players and have warned of their willingness to "address" the issue.
Could make for an interesting game...
Matt Cooke, however, is still serving a four-game ban for his vicious hit on Columbus' Fedor Tyutin.
