MONTREAL -- Corey Trivino, the Islanders' second-round draft pick in 2008, was arrested Sunday night and faces multiple charges stemming from an incident with a female student at Boston University. He was subsequently dismissed from the BU hockey team. Trivino, whose rights are controlled by the Isles, is a senior at the school.

According to BU Today's account of the arraignment, a Suffolk County district attorney said according to witnesses, Trivino, 21, pushed his way into the dorm room of a female student and began kissing and fondling her against her will. He left when she insisted he go and she contacted campus police, who arrested Trivino late Monday night.

Trivino was released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty Monday.

BU coach Jack Parker told BU Today Tuesday that Trivino "is no longer associated with the team."

The Islanders have not decided on a course of action. "We know of the allegations, but at this time don't have all of the information," the team said in a statement. "Until then, we'll have no further comment."

Trivino led BU with 13 goals this seasonbut has had other incidents while at the school related to alcohol, according to reports.

Penalty rescinded

Travis Hamonic had his game misconduct from last Saturday's game rescinded by the league, a too-late gesture to fix the pivotal blown call from the Isles' 6-3 loss but important for Hamonic.

Hamonic was ejected for elbowing the Penguins' Brooks Orpik in the second period. If Hamonic gets another game misconduct, he won't face a one-game suspension.

Nabokov in uniform

Evgeni Nabokov dressed as the backup Tuesday night, his first time in uniform since he left the Nov. 17 win over the Canadiens with a groin injury. Jack Capuano said he wants to give Nabokov a little more practice time before starting him.
