"Big Shot" tells the story of how John Spano was allowed to move forward with his purchase of the Islanders in 1996  . . . until it unraveled in early 1997 and led to his conviction on bank fraud in 1998.

The documentary, directed by Long Island native (and "Entourage" star) Kevin Connolly, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last April and debuts as part of ESPN's "30 for 30" series Tuesday night at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

Embedded below are clips from "Big Shot" along with Connolly's take on the piece.
