Will Dan Carcillo, now eligible to play after serving a six-game suspension, dress for Game 4?

Carcillo, who skated in the sparsely attended optional practice at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, would add fresh legs and energy to a tired and somewhat dejected Rangers squad, but said he didn't know if he would be in the lineup Wednesday night. Coach Alain Vigneault has kept his personnel decisions private for most of the playoffs until gametime.

"We haven't really talked about it, as far as the lineup goes, I have no idea what's going to happen," said Carcillo, who was suspended for contact with linesman Scott Driscoll against Montreal.

The left wing, who was acquired from the Kings in January and played on the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks last season, has two goals in eight games in the playoffs after three in 31 in the regular season.

Asked about the Rangers' rally after being down 3-1 against the Penguins, Carcillo said: "Every run that a team has when it's this deep, you're going to get challenged, and that was our challenge. Obviously we have another one in front of us that's even bigger . . . We have a big task in front of us. But we have to win tomorrow and then go about everything else. Can't look too far ahead, can't get discouraged."

Vigneault not on a roll

Vigneault's teams have lost five straight Cup Final games, beginning with Games 6 and 7 in Vancouver in 2011 against Boston . . . If the Rangers lose

Wednesday, it would be the first Stanley Cup sweep since 1998, when the Red Wings whipped the Washington Capitals, and the 21st since the seven-game format began in 1939 . . . The Blueshirts have won 15 of the last 24 playoff home games and at least one home game in 14 straight playoff series.
