Rangers lend Anthony Duclair to Team Canada

The British royal family is still in town, but The Duke is leaving for Canada.
Anthony Duclair, the 19-year-old right wing for the Rangers, is being loaned to Team Canada for the prestigious World Juniors tournament, which takes place later this month. Training camp opens on Thursday in Toronto.
Duclair has one goal and six assists in 18 games and is a plus-4, but it appeared likely the Rangers would lend the Montreal native to Team Canada.
Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said last week that the tournament, which he has been involved with twice, is a great experience for youngsters and their development.
Duclair has said he is enjoying the learning experience in New York but is willing to do whatever the organization decides is best for him.
The tournament ends in early January, and Duclair should return to the Rangers then. Depending how far Team Canada advances, he could miss about 10 NHL games.
Duclair's salary temporarily will be excised from the payroll for the duration, but it is unclear whether the Rangers, who now will be carrying 13 forwards, will add anyone for the upcoming three-game road trip to western Canada. It may depend on the health of Chris Kreider, who was scratched Monday after experiencing neck spasms after a collision in practice Sunday and is listed as day-to-day.
