Rangers send nine players to the minors
The Rangers trimmed their roster Wednesday, sending nine players to the minors and leaving 34 for the last days of training camp. The final roster likely will be set on Sunday after preseason games with Chicago on Friday and the Devils on Saturday.
The re-assignments:
Forwards: Ryan Bourque, Chris Bourque, Danny Kristo, Nick Tarnasky.
Defensemen: Conor Allen, Mat Bodie, Petr Zamorsky, Tommy Hughes.
Goalies: Jason Missiaen.
Remaining on the roster:
Forwards: Derick Brassard, Anthony Duclair, Jesper Fast, Tanner Glass, Carl Hagelin, Ryan Haggerty. Kevin Hayes, Marek Hrivik, Chris Kreider, Oscar Lindberg, Matthew Lombardi, Ryan Malone, J.T. Miller, Dominic Moore, Chris Muelller, Rick Nash, Ryan Potulny, Martin St. Louis, Lee Stempniak, Mats Zuccarello. Plus: Derek Stepan (broken fibula, out four-to-six weeks).
Defensemen: Dan Boyle, Dan Girardi, Matt Hunwick, Kevin Klein, Stephen Kampfer, Michael Kostka, Ryan McDonagh, John Moore, Marc Staal, Dylan McIlrath.
Goalies: Henrik Lundqvist, Cam Talbot, Cedric Desjardins.
