Two Rangers regulars, still under the weather, were scratched again Monday night.

Winger Tanner Glass, diagnosed with the mumps last week, missed his third consecutive game and coach Alain Vigneault said that if a photo of Glass that he saw Monday morning "is any indication, it's going to take more than a few days."

Defenseman Dan Boyle, who was diagnosed with the flu and didn't play Saturday, was tested for mumps on Sunday, and did not skate Monday. Vigneault said the team was waiting for results of the blood work, but it appears "like a longer version of the 24-hour [flu]." John Moore replaced Boyle for the second consecutive game.

Chris Kreider, who did not play Saturday because of the death of his grandfather, returned to his line with Derek Stepan and Martin St. Louis.

Duclair a healthy scratch

Rookie Anthony Duclair was a healthy scratch. "With Kreids coming back, right now the 12 forwards that are playing tonight, in my estimation, deserve to play," Vigneault said.

Duclair, 19, has played in 18 games, including six straight, but seems to have plateaued, with just one assist in the six, and averaged about 11 minutes per game.

In Sunday's Newsday, it was reported that Team Canada had asked the Rangers to lend Duclair to the team for the World Junior tournament, which begins Dec. 26 in Toronto and Montreal. On Monday, it seemed that Vigneault might be willing. "We've discussed this briefly, [assistant general manager] Jeff [Gorton] and I; we still need to talk as a group about this. I know that having been there twice, it's a great experience . . . the pressure representing your country, so it's something that, moving forward, we're going to discuss a little more in depth."

The first invitees were made public Monday; the roster deadline is Dec. 19, and Duclair could return to the team in early January, probably missing a half-dozen games.
