Bill Belichick documentary opens eyes
The NFL Network, still only a rumor to the majority of TV homes around here, including mine, offers a gem of a documentary Thursday called “Bill Belichick: A Football Life.’’
The Patriots coach allowed liberal access to his personal and professional lives during the 2009 season, knowing NFL Films would not do anything to make him look bad.
And, indeed, the show makes him look pretty good. Human, even.
Highlights: Belichick and Tom Brady game planning for Ravens safety Ed Reed; Belichick talking trash with then-Ravens receiver Derrick Mason; Belichick telling Jon Bon Jovi how he thinks Rex Ryan will do as the Jets’ coach, and Belichick tearing up during his final visit to Giants Stadium.
My favorite moment, though: Patriots owner Robert Kraft watching the Jets on TV, and trying to hex them.
