For years, ESPN and TNT treated the Knicks as if they were a small-market afterthought. But in the Amar'e/Melo era, the national networks again have taken notice of them.

Lockout permitting, ABC/ESPN will carry a total of 14 Knicks games in 2011-12, with another eight scheduled to appear on TNT.

Doing some quick math, that's 22, a number that would have been inconceivable for most of the late 2000s.

For the third year in a row, the Knicks will host a noon Christmas Day game on ESPN, this time against the Celtics.

I always have been opposed to the noon Dec. 25 start, but the NBA and ESPN don't listen to me.

Here is the Knicks' schedule.
