Pinstripe Bowl demand softening
Early indications were that Saturday's Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium would be among the toughest tickets of the bowl season -- in part because of the large New York-area alumni bases of Penn State and Boston College.
But the demand for watching outdoor college football in the Bronx in late December seems to be softening.
According to TiqIQ.com, which monitors resale market sites, the average asking price for tickets as of Wednesday was $147.82, down 37 percent since the matchup was announced. The lowest asking price was $81.
If the average price holds, it will be the lowest for the five Pinstripe Bowls. The highest was $257.82 for last year's Rutgers-Notre Dame game, which also set an attendance record at 47,122.
