The next twist in the case of Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira arrived Thursday when UFC president Dana White said the fight was off and that Jones had pulled out.

This comes one day after the UFC said the two would fight at UFC 170 in Las Vegas on Feb. 22, 2014.

White said Jones was not injured.

Let's take a look at how the light heavyweight champpion's next title defense has come and gone since he won a unanimous decision over Alexander Gustafsson last Sept. 21.

Sept. 26 -- ESPN reports that Jones' next title defense will be against Teixeira, rather than a rematch against Gustafsson, and that it would "probably" happen on Super Bowl weekend.

Oct. 3 -- Newsday reports that Jones vs. Teixeira is confirmed as the main event for UFC 169 in Newark on Super Bowl weekend.

Oct. 7 -- White tells reporters on a conference call that Jones vs. Teixeira is not the main event for that card, adding it would most likely happen in March.

Oct. 12 -- Jones tells Newsday that a Feb. 1 fight date coming off a grueling battle on Sept. 21 would be "a little too close." Added Jones: "I felt like I was rushing a bit, and I talked to my team and everyone suggested I hold off for another month and a half."

Nov. 13 -- Jones vs. Teixeira is announced as the headliner for UFC 170 in Las Vegas on Feb. 22, 2014, just three weeks after the originally scheduled fight date.

Nov. 14 -- White says that fight will not happen then, again suggesting March as a possible fight date.

TBA -- Jones vs. Teixeira
