In the lead-up to the Oct. 12 release of the movie "Here Comes the Boom," expect to actor Kevin James talk about his MMA fandom. It's part of selling a movie.
But the Long Island native actor, who stars as a high school biology teacher who begins training and fighting mixed martial arts to help raise money for the school, has long been spotted at UFC events.
Whether or not you wish to qualify James' enjoyment of MMA is really up to you. But the only thing that should really matter is whether or not you think "Here Comes the Boom" will be a fun (and funny) movie to go see this fall.
Will this be MMA's "Happy Gilmore"? Who knows, but it does feature MMA legend Bas Rutten in a fairly prominent role, along with appearances by Joe Rogan, Bruce Buffer, Mike Goldberg, Jason "Mayhem" Miller, Mark DellaGrote, Arianny Celeste and Krzysztof Soszynski, to name a few.
