Long Island on 'The Ultimate Fighter'
LUKE CUMMO
Cummo, from New Hyde Park, reached the finale on Season 2 of "The Ultimate Fighter," losing to Joe Stevenson. He was coached by Matt Hughes.
MATT SERRA
In Season 4, known as "The Comeback" season because it consisted of existing UFC fighters who never had a title shot, Serra won the welterweight division of the show. By winning the show, the East Meadow product earned a title shot against Georges St-Pierre and beat him. He later coached against Matt Hughes on Season 6.
PETE SELL
On Season 4, the Bay Shore product beat Charles McCarthy in the quarterfinals then lost to middleweight Travis Lutter in the semifinals. He also served as a coach with Matt Serra on Season 6.
COSTAS PHILIPPOU
Philippou, from Massapequa by way of Cyprus, was one of the 32 contestants on Season 11, but lost his fight to get into the house.
DENNIS BERMUDEZ
Bermudez, who grew up in Saugerties and moved to Long Island several years ago, reached the final on Season 14. The featherweight lost to Diego Brandao by first-round submission. He was coached by Jason Miller.
AL IAQUINTA
Iaquinta reached the final on the "The Ultimate Fighter Live" season. Since this 15th season of "TUF" aired live each Friday, the Wantagh-based lightweight fought three times in 15 days in reaching the final, where he lost to Michael Chiesa by first-round submission. He was coached by Urijah Faber.
EDDIE GORDON
Gordon, from Freeport, won the Season 19 middleweight division of "TUF" by knocking out Dhiego Lima in the finale on July 6, 2014.
JAMES JENKINS
Rocky Point's Jenkins competed in the 22nd season of The Ultimate Fighter under coach Urijah Faber. He lost to eventual runner-up Artem Lobov in the elimination round.
