Bobby Wescott hit a two-run triple in his first at-bat and buried a grand slam into the right-centerfield gap in the third inning, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk and six RBIs and leading Plainedge baseball to a 13-5 win Wednesday over Mineola in Nassau A-I. Nick Gerardi went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two walks, two runs scored and two RBIs for Plainedge (9-3). Matt Rosenberg struck out eight through five innings.

Mepham 10, Jericho 6: Steven Mulqueen went 2-for-3 with two home runs, six RBIs and two runs scored to lead Mepham (6-2-1) in Nassau AA-I. Sal Visone went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored. Jaiden Zoller went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Wantagh 11, Valley Stream North 8: Tommy Wunderlich hit a bases-clearing double to break a tie and score three runs in the bottom of the sixth to lead Wantagh (11-1-1) in Nassau A-I. Jack Tate went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, AJ Bardi went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Will Windisch pitched the final four innings for the win.

Garden City 3, Carey 0: Matt Liberopoulos threw an 82-pitch complete game, allowing four hits and striking out five to lead Garden City (9-3) in Nassau AA-II. Evan Cabral was 2-for-2 with an RBI. 

Miller Place 12, Sayville 2: Alex Strickland pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, allowing two runs and a walk to lead Miller Place (7-6) in Suffolk VI. Strickland also went 4-for-5. Joe Fallon was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Kyle Elliott hit a home run.

Centereach 6, Copiague 0: Rocco Panaro pitched a complete game three-hitter, striking out nine and walking two to lead Centereach (6-4) in Suffolk III.

SOFTBALL

Riverhead 1, Sachem East 0: Mya Marelli threw seven innings, allowing one hit and striking out 13 to lead Riverhead (11-0) in Suffolk I. Marelli also went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Hewlett 33, Valley Stream Central 27: Isabella Betancur smacked two home runs and Sarah Oliveros drove in six to lead Hewlett (6-2) in Nassau VI. Kayla Owens also hit a homer, while Ava Morgan collected four RBIs. Haiden Norman and Rachel Cafaro both drove in three runs. Hayley Henggeler went 5-for-6 as the offense racked up 19 hits.

Plainedge 16, Hicksville 9: Imogen Eaton had four hits and four RBIs as well as a solo home run to lead Plainedge (6-4) in Nassau III. Kayla Gately went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer.

Wantagh 8, Herricks 3: Lucy Olore pitched seven innings, striking out 10 to lead Wantagh (8-3) in Nassau II. Bella Bartilucci had a home run and two RBIs

BOYS LACROSSE

Wantagh 8, Manhasset 6: Kyle Conklin made 12 saves to lead Wantagh (9-3) in Nassau’s Power League. Will Greaves went 16-for-17 on faceoffs. Dylan Martini scored three goals with an assist. Devin Paccione had two goals with two assists.

Riverhead 8, Floyd 5: Jackson Redmond scored the go-ahead goal with 7:10 left in the fourth quarter for Riverhead (9-3) in Suffolk I. Redmond finished with three goals. Sean Payton had one goal and three assists.

Half Hollow Hills 21, Commack 6: Anthony Raio scored seven goals and had two assists to lead Half Hollow Hills (11-0) in Suffolk I. James Bruno had five goals and two assists. Sal Santoro had 14 saves. Zach Marco scored four goals and had one assist.

St. Dominic 17, Monsignor Farrell 7: James Jenet had seven goals and three assists to lead St. Dominic (5-1) in the NSCHSAA. Brian Medley had three goals and two assists.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Syosset 10, Long Beach 9: Alexa Baek tied the game with 32 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. Leah Kaufer netted the game-winner 19 seconds into overtime straight off the draw to lead Syosset (8-2) in Nassau I. Delaney Chernoff had one goal and four assists for Long Beach (5-5).

Manhasset 17, Seaford 13: Harper Lambert had five goals and one assist and Shea Panzik had four goals and four assists to lead Manhasset (7-2) in Nassau I. Madison O’Hagan had three goals and two assists for Seaford (5-5).

Massapequa 11, South Side 8: Keira Durnin made 14 saves to lead Massapequa (7-2) in Nassau I. Addison Labriola had three goals and one assist to lead South Side (6-4) in Nassau I. Cameron Labriola had three goals.
