Connor Catania struck out nine, walked one and hit one batter in a two-hitter to lead Smithtown West to an 8-0 win over Bellport in Suffolk IV baseball Thursday.

It was the third consecutive shutout for Catania. In those three games, he has allowed three hits and struck out 29 in 20 innings. Cooper Alberto singled with two outs in the fourth to break up the no-hitter.

Michael Cascione, Jason Zeller and James Camilleri each had two hits for Smithtown West (9-4), with Zeller and Camilleri adding two RBIs each.

Mount Sinai 3, Harborfields 1: Bennie Franquiz went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base and James Trepiccione had a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning for Mount Sinai (4-10) in Suffolk VI. Ralph Passantino went 2-for-3 with one run and a triple and Jayden Hannon had five strikeouts in four innings.

Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 11, East Meadow 3: Michael D’Ambrosio went 2-for-3 with two home runs, five RBIs and two runs in Nassau AAA-II. Peter Bounougias had 10 strikeouts in 4 1⁄3 innings and went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI for Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK (9-2). East Meadow is 5-7-1.

SOFTBALL

Manhasset 15, Lynbrook 9: Lily Kaye went 4-for-5 with two triples and six RBIs to lead Manhasset (9-0) in Nassau V. Giana Cerrone, Alex Tiliakos and Ava Neylon each went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs.

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

Smithtown West 1, West Islip 0: Erin McDaid struck out 11 in a non-league shutout and recorded her 500th career strikeout, according to Smithtown West coach Micheal Forman. Jiselle Singh went 2-for-3 and scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth for Smithtown West (14-0).

BOYS LACROSSE

Comsewogue 10, Hauppauge 9: Ryan Meyers had four goals and two assists and scored the winning goal 1:01 into overtime for Comsewogue (6-4) in Suffolk II. Ryan Button scored two goals and Tyler Hrostowski added one goal and won 17 of 23 faceoffs.

WEDNESDAY’S GAMES

Lindenhurst 5, Middle Country 3: Sean Rowan saved 19 shots and Hunter De Ronde and Delvani Valdivia each scored two goals to lead Lindenhurst (4-7) in Suffolk I. Valdivia won seven of his nine faceoffs. James Gorman added a goal and an assist.

Chaminade 11, Darien (Conn.) 8: James Gillis scored three goals, Quinn Ball won 23 of 24 faceoffs and Sal Caputo made 16 saves to lead Chaminade (6-2) in non-league. Connor Kuttin added two goals and two assists.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Glen Cove 15, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 6: Maddy Kaffl had five goals and two assists and Bryanna Rothwell added three goals in Nassau III. According to coach Mark Checola, Kaffl scored her 200th career goal for Glen Cove (7-3).

Garden City 8, Cold Spring Harbor 7: Ashley Clark scored the winning goal with 18 seconds left in regulation for Garden City (10-1) in Nassau I. Niamh Pfaff made six saves.

Oceanside 9, Locust Valley 8: Leigha Zaman scored three goals and Grace DiDominica added two goals and two assists in Nassau II. Riley Mohr made four saves for Oceanside (7-5).

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

Northport 38, Lindenhurst 12: Grace Gilmartin threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 74 yards and three TDs to lead Northport (7-2) in Suffolk II. Sarah Power caught 11 passes for 135 yards and two scores. Quinn Sorel added a 10-yard touchdown pass to Lily Wotzak.
