Kaitlyn Wisoky scored the game’s only goal off an assist from Caitlyn Collymore with 10:17 left in the fourth quarter to lead Half Hollow Hills to a 1-0 win over Newfield in a Suffolk I field hockey opener on Friday. Ava Ray made four saves in the shutout. Karlie Sitler made four saves for Newfield.

Ward Melville 2, Floyd 0: Peyton Phillips had a goal and an assist and Maddie Larsen added a goal to lead Ward Melville in a Suffolk I opener. Kalina-Sky Permenter made 10 saves for Floyd.

Comsewogue 5, Sayville 4: Kate Gunning tallied two goals and an assist and Hailey Sullivan had a goal and two assists to lead Comsewogue in a Suffolk II opener. Samantha Henry made 12 saves and Ava Vadyak scored two goals for Sayville.

Division 5, Roslyn 2: Chris Desposorio had two goals and two assists to lead Division (1-1) in Nassau AA-III. Chris O’Neill added two goals and Chris Castora made six saves as Division scored five unanswered goals to end the first half. Maxwell Gold made six saves for Roslyn (0-1).

Oceanside 2, Herricks 0: Sean Mahoney scored off an assist from Franco Visone 23 minutes into the second half and Dylan Wassenbergh scored off an assist from Parker Roth with 8:30 left to lead Oceanside in a Nassau AAA opener.

Commack 2, Bay Shore 0: Ryan Schalk and Ferenc Bagi each scored a goal for Commack (2-0) in Suffolk III. Luke McDonough and Brayden O’Boyle each added an assist. Steven Gereda made nine saves for Bay Shore (0-2).

Portledge 3, Stony Brook School 0: Lily Faltischek scored two goals and Addison Martin had two assists to lead Portledge (2-0) in PSAA. Emma Deden made 10 saves for Stony Brook School (0-2).

Garden City 2, Syosset 0: Sienna Castellano scored a goal in the 20th minute off an assist by Madsie Patrickakos to lead Garden City in a Nassau AAA/AA-I opener. LeeLee Gaffney added a second-half goal off an assist by Chloe Benik and Marisa Patrissi made six saves.
