A West Hempstead man was scheduled for arraignment Sunday after being charged with drunken driving in Oceanside with a baby in the car, Nassau County police said.
Andres Collado, 27, of 394 Pinebrook Ave., is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law, aggravated unlicensed operator, and endangering the welfare of a child.

A West Hempstead man was scheduled for arraignment Sunday after being charged with drunken driving in Oceanside with a baby in the car, Nassau County police said.
Andres Collado, 27, of 394 Pinebrook Ave., is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law, aggravated unlicensed operator, and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to Nassau police the incident occurred Saturday when Collado who was driving a 2004 Nissan Sentra, rear-ended a 2008 Jeep that was attempting to make a left turn on Long Beach Road.
Officers who responded to the scene said the defendant had glassy, red blood shot eyes, blurred speech and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Collado's one month old son was secured in the backseat of the automobile.
When Collado was placed under arrest, the baby was released to the mother who had also been in the car.
Police said Collado also has three open Nassau County warrants -- for first degree criminal contempt, harassment and violation of probation.
