Scott Reif, Senate Republican spokesman, sends this response for the GOP to Democrat Regina Calcaterra's earlier barb that Sen. Ken LaValle (R-Port Jefferson) takes partisan shots at the opposing party on his public Web site:

"The truth hurts. Regina Calcaterra doesn't want to know about how her Senate Democrat colleagues hurt Suffolk County families, through their enactment of the MTA payroll tax, elimination of the STAR rebate checks or the billions in other taxes they have approved. Instead of paying for a new website, she'd be wise to invest in a GPS unit so she at least knows where the 1st Senate District is."
