A taxi driver who ran a red light in Flanders Wednesday, causing a three-car collision, was found to be under the influence of drugs - and had a crack pipe, police said.

Southampton Town police said Louis Mannino, 45, of Riverhead, was arrested following the 3:30 p.m. crash at the intersection of County Road 105 and Route 24. He suffered what police called minor injuries. There were no passengers in his cab. A passenger in one of the other vehicles also suffered minor injuries and was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center.

Mannino was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. He is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Southampton Town Justice Court.

Police did not identify what company Mannino was driving for at the time of the crash.
