A runaway cow that dodged a Queens slaughterhouse on Friday will live out its days at an upstate refuge, thanks to Jon Stewart, the former host of “The Daily Show.”

Stewart and his wife, Tracey, picked up the creature from a Brooklyn animal control center, where it was brought after its capture, and will bring the lucky escapee to the Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, the sanctuary said in a statement.

Determined to avoid being slaughtered, the animal — which the sanctuary identified as a bull — had led police on a chase that ended at York College’s Queens campus.

An NYPD spokeswoman said a slaughterhouse near the college’s Jamaica campus was unloading the cow from a truck when it broke loose about 10 a.m. The animal ran down the street and into a fenced-in grassy field near 160th Street and Liberty Avenue.

Photos and videos posted on social media show police attempting to corral it.

This is the second cow the NYPD has captured in Jamaica this year. In January, another cow, later named Freddie, escaped a slaughterhouse and ran into a parking garage.

That cow was given a forever home by a refuge in Wantage, New Jersey.

Next year, the Stewarts plan to open a sanctuary at their New Jersey farm, in partnership with the Watkins Glen organization.
