Altice USA, a cable television and internet provider, is closing its Bethpage warehouse and eliminating 98 jobs, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

Bethpage-based Altice has hired USTC to handle its warehousing from a facility in Edison, New Jersey, Altice said.

“This partnership with our local and trusted warehousing partner will provide for superior and responsive warehouse services for Altice so that we can maintain best-in-class service for our customers,” said company spokeswoman Lisa Anselmo.

Nonmanagement Altice employees will be able to work for USTC if they have a good-service record and can work in New Jersey, Altice said. Those in management must apply for jobs with USTC.

Altice said all of the affected workers will receive severance, even if they join USTC. Eleven are expected to retire, Altice said.

The company expects to complete the closure of the Bethpage warehouse in June, according to the WARN notice it filed Monday with the state Department of Labor.

Altice USA’s parent, Netherlands-based Altice N.V., bought Bethpage-based Cablevision Systems Corp. last year for $17.7 billion. Altice USA owns 25 percent of Newsday Media Group.

Since the deal closed, Altice has cut jobs in some departments and added them in others as it integrates the operations of Cablevision with those of Suddenlink Communications in St. Louis, which also was bought by Altice N.V.

Altice USA has promised not to lay off customer service representatives and service technicians for four years as part of an agreement with New York State regulators.

Anselmo said, “Altice USA continues to accelerate its efforts to deliver excellent service to our Optimum customers in this competitive market, and on this front, we have recently rolled out higher broadband speeds, started building a next-generation fiber network and more.”
