Broadway Mall in Hicksville is undergoing a face-lift and will welcome four new tenants -- Chick-fil-A, Noodles & Company, Blaze Pizza and Blink Fitness.

The mall renovations, costing an undisclosed amount, will focus on updating the exterior of the main entrance by stripping the existing pillars and reworking the facade. It will also include interior walkways with new flooring and other outdoor improvements, including new benches, seating, foliage and flowers, mall officials said.

"These renovations and new tenants provide a refreshed atmosphere, additional culinary choices and enhanced street visibility," Broadway Mall general manager John Rossi said in a statement.

The mall, overseen by El Segundo, California-based Pacific Retail Capital Partners, will remain open throughout the renovations with a grand reopening scheduled for early next year.

Chicken fast-food chain Chick-fil-A recently signed a lease for a 4,800-square-foot restaurant space. Earlier this month, the Oyster Bay Town Board approved a special-use permit to allow a drive-thru at the planned free-standing Chick-fil-A.

The mall location is among at least three that the Atlanta-based fast-food chain plans on Long Island, including Port Jefferson Station and Commack. The Port Jefferson Station location is scheduled to open in September.

Quick-casual restaurant chain Noodles & Company also recently signed a lease on a 4,000-square-foot restaurant space and plans to hire between 40 and 50 employees before it opens this fall.

Blaze Pizza signed a lease for a 2,726-square-foot space and anticipates hiring 50 people before it opens this fall. Blink Fitness also plans to open soon in a 14,000-square-foot space and will employ about 25 people.

Several existing stores are remodeling or relocating in conjunction with the larger renovation. H&M is remodeling and expanding its space to 23,000 square feet and an existing Subway restaurant is remodeling, while On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina and Broadway Dental will be relocating to the main entrance.

Last week, a West Hempstead couple's Facebook video of mice scampering on the counters, under the microwave and across the floor in the Broadway Mall McDonald's prompted an inspection by the Nassau County health department that resulted in a C rating.

A representative of the McDonald's franchisee had said food safety and cleanliness are of "paramount importance," adding the current construction in the mall is "negatively impacting business operations."

Rossi had said the tenant is responsible for keeping the space pest-free and the mall is also addressing the problem.
