A Queens family has opened a new grocery store in Mineola at a location that once housed a King Kullen.

The Zhang family opened Super FL Mart at 52 Jericho Tpke. on Nov. 11. It is the 12th grocery store the family owns. The Zhangs, who said they have been in the supermarket business for 25 years, have other locations in Brooklyn and Philadelphia.

Super FL Mart is replacing the King Kullen location that closed in October 2014.
In March, the family presented a proposal to the Mineola board of trustees to occupy the 45,000-square-foot property and employ 70 to 85 people.

Wei Ling (Eric) Huang, who presented the plan, told the board that he would invest $3 million to $5 million to renovate the building and add a fresh coat of paint, new signage, remodeled floors and a re-paved parking lot.

Super FL Mart, which sells the same products as a traditional grocery store, is open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
