Long Island hires and promotions: LI Children’s Museum
BOARDS
Daniel E. Mendez of Plainview, director of finance at Castagna Realty Co. Inc. in Manhasset, has joined the board of trustees of Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City.
Susan Fishbein of Huntington, a retired assistant superintendent for student services at Cosewague School District in Port Jefferson and a former adjunct professor at Stony Brook University, has been appointed to the board of trustees of the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association.
ARCHITECTURE
Architect Edward Casper of Mount Sinai has joined Stantec in Hauppauge as a principal. He was a principal at Wiedersum Associates Architects in Hauppauge.
H2M architects + engineers in Melville has three new hires and two news hires for its Manhattan office.
Michael Biancaniello of Northport has been hired as a project engineer. He was a design engineer for Bohler Engineering in Hauppauge.
Melissa Farina of Deer Park has been hired as staff scientist in the industrial hygiene group. She worked as a server at Bella Verde, a cathering hall in Brentwood.
Tim Yacko of St. James has been hired as a senior accountant. He was a staff accountant for West Whiteland Township, Exton, Pennsylvania.
Sukhjinder Singh of Floral Park has been hired as an adminstrative support professional in the Manhattan office. He was an intern at Home Funding in Floral Park.
Michael Zaffrano of Holtsville has been hired as a construction inspector in the Manhattan office. He was a transportation construction inspector for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hauppauge.
HEALTH CARE
Two physicians have joined Long Island Plastic Surgical Group in Garden City.
Dr. Michael R. Christy of Woodbury was a member of the faculty at The John Hopkins Hospital and University of Maryland combined plastic and reconstructive surgery residency program and the R Adams Cowley School Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Dr. Finny George of Manhattan completed a research fellowship at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center and a plastic surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He obtained specialty training in reconstructive microsurgery through a fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan.
REAL ESTATE
Kurt Amaya of Massapequa has been hired as a licensed real estate sales agent at Mara Realty in Syosset. He was a loan officer and banker at JPMorgan Chase in Manhattan.
