Long Island hires and promotions: Stephanie Columbia, Longwood Central School District

EDUCATION

Stephanie Columbia of East Moriches, a school social worker and project director of positive behavior intervention strategies at Longwood Central School District, has been appointed director of mental health services and student attendance.

Althea J. Sterling of Jamaica, Queens, has been hired as assistant dean for student services at Touro Law Center in Central Islip. She was director of testing at Brooklyn College.

Kathleen Sottile of West Hempstead, principal at Floral Park Memorial High School in Floral Park, has been appointed assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction for Sewanhaka Central High School District.

Andrew Rosenberg of Smithtown has been appointed director of guidance for East Rockaway Junior/Senior High School in East Rockaway. He was the director of guidance for the Cold Spring Harbor Junior/Senior High School.

ENGINEERING

Lawrence Y. Kuo of Albertson, project manager, civil design engineer at Sidney B. Bowne & Son in Mineola, an engineering consultant firm, has been promoted to associate partner.
