Long Island hires and promotions: Melissa Kuehnle, Vision Long Island

Melissa Kuehnle of Medford, director of communications at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, has been appointed to the board of Vision Long Island.

Gail Lamberta of Huntington, an associate dean, professor and chair of recreation/leisure studies at St. Joseph's College, has been named to the board of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.

Shannon M. O'Neill of East Patchogue, assistant dean of military and veteran services at St. Joseph's College, has been appointed to serve on the Brookhaven Town Veterans Services Committee.

James Thompson of Dix Hills has been promoted from senior relationship manager to senior vice president of business banking and director of equipment financing at Astoria Bank in Jericho.

Empire National Bank in Islandia has two new hires.

Linda Carman of Massapequa has been hired as assistant vice president for e-banking. She had a similar position in municipal banking and cash management at Community National Bank in Melville.

Neil Roberts of East Meadow has been hired as vice president and senior credit analyst. He was senior vice president at Bank of America in Melville.

Douglas Sanderson of Fort Salonga has been hired as chief financial officer at Franklin First Financial, a mortgage banker, in Melville. He was chief financial officer at Strategic Funding Source in Manhattan.

Melissa Negrin-Wiener of Smithtown has been chosen to serve on the Nassau County Bar Association mediation panel of the Alternative Dispute Resolution tribunal. She is an elder-law attorney and partner at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona in Melville.

Tom O'Brien of Garden City has joined the global firm of Alvarez & Marsal in Manhattan as senior director. He was senior vice president and general manager for RCG Global Services in Manhattan and Edison, New Jersey.

Karen Sharf of Old Brookville has been appointed associate real estate broker to manage sales at Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty in Roslyn. She was an associate broker at the company's office in Glen Head.

Andrew Navaretta of Manhattan has joined Homes by Mara Realty in Syosset as a licensed salesperson. He was a financial associate with Morgan Stanley in Manhattan.
