For sale: Lake Success home in Whitney Houston film
You might recognize this Lake Success home from the movies — it was featured in the 1996 Whitney Houston film “The Preacher’s Wife,” also starring Denzel Washington.
Houston never shot a scene at the house, which is on the market for $5.88 million. But the sellers say she did spend a day at the home during filming, which lasted three to four weeks. Washington appeared in scenes in the living room, dining room and outside.
The white stucco modern neoclassic home has also been featured on USA’s “Royal Pains,” advertisements and commercials for Jimmy Choo and Budweiser and the first-ever episode of MTV’s “Cribs.”
The 2.25-acre property has a heated pool in the backyard, where there are two cooking stations — one with a wood-burning pizza oven and the other with a grilling station. The spread includes an outdoor bar with a TV, speakers, cooler, soda gun, dishwasher, wet sinks and kegerator.
The home is listed with Nelson Leong and Frank Yen Mo of East Coast Realtors.
