The Olympics are always awash in pomp and circumstance, but count on the Brits to go for a laugh.

For the past 68 days the Olympic torch has made its solemn way around the United Kingdom, carried by athletes, charity workers and other inspirational figures. Today it arrived in London for a final victory lap. And who got to carry it along King’s Road in the well-heeled neighborhood of Chelsea? Patsy and Edina, the booze-swilling, label-obsessed party girls played by Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders on the outrageous British TV show “Absolutely Fabulous.”

Sporting white tracksuits and Union Jack ankle boots (Alexander McQueen, Eddy informed us) the pair seemed confused about what event they had just participated in.

“We were running in one of the races,” Pats told an interviewer in this video.

“What race was it?” “Torch race,” supplied Eddy.

Of course you did, sweetie darlings.
